Legendary Explorer and Oceanographer Dr. Robert Ballard, Heads Impressive List of Speakers and Presenters; Offers Personal Perspective on Managing, Developing and Rewarding Talent
Arlington, Va. - 1 August, 2008 – Plateau Systems, leading provider of talent management software, content and services, today announced the agenda and speakers for its 13th annual Insights user conference, “Blazing the Talent Trail.” The conference, which runs from September 14-17, at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, features an action-packed agenda and star-studded line-up of speakers and presenters including industry pioneers and visionaries, talent mavericks and mavens and innovative, trend-setting customers, as well as interactive educational tracks.
This year, conference-goers are invited to attend Plateau’s inaugural Buzz Panel, moderated by Plateau CEO, Paul Sparta. Plateau has lassoed in talent management experts Bill Kutik, Technology Columnist, Human Resource Executive Magazine; Josh Bersin, CEO & President, Bersin & Associates; David Smith, Managing Director, Talent & Organization Performance, Accenture and Nathan Swanson, Partner, Human Capital Management Research, ThinkPanmure to discuss current trends in talent management, software-as-a-service, and the economy’s impact on talent management. - Renowned oceanographer and explorer Dr. Robert Ballard, who made several amazing discoveries, including the wreck of the RMS Titanic in 1985, the battleship Bismarck in 1989, and the wreck of the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown in 1998, will discuss his philosophy on identifying and training high-performing individuals and building successful teams. During his presentation, Dr. Ballard will share his insight on the importance of developing and rewarding team members and how retaining strong performers is critical for sustaining successful business ventures.
- Mary Tilley, HR Leader at W.L. Gore, will discuss her organization’s extensive and inclusive process for managing its employee talent. W.L. Gore utilizes an annual multi-rater assessment approach to ensure that all employees are ranked and commented on by their peers regarding their contribution to the organization. Through a series of meetings and feedback discussions, this input is reconciled and used in making compensation recommendations.
- Carol Rozwell, VP Distinguished Analyst at Gartner, will lead an interactive workshop on how Web 2.0 and social software are affecting organizations’ traditional approaches to learning. Attendees will learn how embracing a social learning culture can benefit their organizations by enabling more informal, collaborative learning, how social learning platforms can help bridge learning styles across multi-generations, and how organizations can effectively govern social learning behavior and content.
- Connie Linardarkis, Chief Human Resources Officer at Zions Bancorporation will present real-world best practices for consolidating and centralizing HR systems and transactional operations in a post-acquisition environment. She will discuss how this streamlined approach has enabled Zions Bancorporation to maximize HR alignment with local business outcomes and continue its growth.
Industry thought leaders and Plateau customers from leading global organizations including A.P.
