Plateau to Support Canon U.S.A.’s Talent Management and Training Initiatives Across North America

Arlington, Va. - 26 February, 2008 – Plateau Systems, a leading provider of talent management software, content and services, today announced that Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in imaging and office solutions, will deploy Plateau’s hosted and on-demand Talent Management and iContent solutions to support Canon Academy, Canon U.S.A.’s new corporate university and learning management initiative in North America.

Through the Canon Academy, powered by Plateau’s award-winning iContent, Canon U.S.A. employees will have on-demand access to a variety of business, IT and compliance training content. Using iContent, Canon U.S.A. can purchase, manage, and deliver all content securely from a single, centralized solution, giving employees access to a database of more than 30,000 talent management assets that span a broad range of business, technology and leadership development topics.

The new learning management system will help Canon U.S.A. better identify training requirements, track completion, and tie training program objectives directly to its business goals for 10,000 employees across Canon’s U.S.A.’s North American enterprise, which includes more than 30 sales and support offices.

By providing hosted and on-demand talent management solutions, Plateau is helping companies such as Canon U.S.A. optimize their IT infrastructure, specifically around delivering training solutions, and is helping further reduce the impact on the environment by making it possible for organizations to reduce time, travel and resources used for in-person training. Plateau’s hosted iContent solution, for example, allows Canon U.S.A. to synchronize workforce productivity with the Company’s commitment to environmental conservation and carbon footprint reduction. By providing an automated solution that makes it possible for Canon U.S.A employees to access learning and training – at anytime and from anywhere – iContent reduces the need to transport employees to different locations for scheduled, instructor-led training sessions. A fully automated solution that delivers, tracks, and records all learning and training activities electronically, iContent is an efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible solution for organizations looking to eliminate redundancy and streamline training delivery and administration while reducing resource consumption.

As part of its corporate philosophy of Kyosei, Canon U.S.A. recognizes that its environmental accountability and responsibility, including energy and resources conservation, needs to be incorporated into all of its business operations.

“In addition to meeting our aggressive, enterprise-wide talent management needs and the launch of Canon Academy, Plateau’s solutions reduce resource consumption and environmental impact, allowing us to honor and fulfill our commitment to eco-responsibility, while helping us continue to nurture and support Canon U.S.A.’s greatest asset – its people,” said William Gilbert, vice president and general manager, Human Resources, Canon U.S.A.

“Every business has a responsibility to take an active role in protecting our environment, whether by implementing recycling programs, purchasing computer hardware that meets EPEAT standards, supporting green commuting programs, or making a corporate commitment to partner with other companies that are taking proactive measures to reduce their impact on the environment,” said Paul Sparta, Chairman and CEO of Plateau. “In acknowledging our own responsibility, Plateau has established its corporate headquarters in an Eco-friendly, LEED* certified building, and is delivering industry-leading solutions that support global talent management initiatives while at the same time helping customers like Canon U.S.A. meet their environmental and energy conservation commitments.”
